Peer Support
One2Another offers peer support which is personalized for each individual or family. We will link you with a group of individuals who will collaborate to provide support. We will actively listen and validate your feelings, as well as empower individuals and families to advocate for themselves.
What you need to know about peer support
- They do not assess, give advice, or advocate for families. They are peers, not professionals.
- They are part of a team of people who work together to support the individual or family.
- They are someone who can walk alongside you through a program and support you in navigating and understanding the program
We also offer specialized peer support for working with schools and family court.
School Support
School meetings can be a struggle for many families. Navigating the complicated school systems to obtain IEPs, behavioral and communications plans can be overwhelming. We can assist in identifying the right contacts, attend meetings to take notes, bridge communication with families and professionals, and help develop plans and goals.
In addition to K-12 schools, if you’re planning to start college and have no idea where to start, we can help. We can help you find applications, complete registration, request financial aid, and establish goals to help you be successful.
Family Court
A peer can help families negotiate the complex court system. We can help you prepare for appearances, take notes in court, assist with prep and debriefing, and ensure your family’s needs are being met.
