Our History
One2Another traces its origins back to 2006, when seven families in the Linn County, Oregon area came together with a shared interest in learning about Collaborative Problem Solving. They attended the first collaborative problem-solving class offered in the region, and upon its conclusion, these families reconvened when the class was offered again three months later. This initial group of seven families, dubbed “returners,” found immense value in supporting one another and continued to participate in the class over the next six months.
As their bonds strengthened and their numbers grew to encompass 12-15 families over the course of a year, the seeds of what would become One2Another were sown. Recognizing the significance of the support network they had formed, these original families aspired to extend this support to as many families as possible. They formed a committee known as the Family Support Volunteers to explore avenues for achieving this goal.
The Family Support Volunteers dedicated themselves to ensuring that the supportive environment they had cultivated could be sustained and expanded. They volunteered their time to assist with classes, provide individual support, and organize inclusive events such as picnics and outings where all families were welcome.
In 2014, buoyed by their success and driven by their mission to make a broader impact, these individuals made the decision to transition One2Another into a Non-Profit Organization. However, lacking the necessary expertise to navigate the complexities of running a non-profit, they faced challenges and eventually had to shut down.
Undeterred, the group persisted in their mission, continuing to explore the intricacies of non-profit management and business operations. They continued meeting as a committee, bolstering their knowledge and refining their approach. In 2018, armed with newfound expertise and determination, they refiled for non-profit status and were successfully granted it on March 23, 2018.
With their non-profit status secured, One2Another expanded its offerings to include parent classes, support groups, workshops, one-on-one support, parent coaching, and peer support. Recognizing the evolving needs of their community, they are in the process of extending their services to young adult populations.
Driven by their core values of strength-based, transparent, and reciprocal support, One2Another has become a cornerstone of the Linn County community. Their impact has reached over 2000 families, with second-generation attendees now participating in the same classes and groups that their parents once did.
The name “One2Another” reflects the ethos of the organization, encapsulating the culture of mutual support and giving back that defines its essence. Run entirely by volunteers who have benefitted from the support of One2Another, the organization has become a beacon of hope and assistance for families in need.
As word of their impactful work spreads, One2Another is gaining recognition not only within Linn County but also in other counties throughout the state of Oregon, with requests for their services pouring in from various communities. Through their dedication and unwavering commitment to serving one another, One2Another continues to make a profound difference in the lives of families across Oregon.

Dr. Jane Allen
- Licensed Psychologist
- Retired from community mental health
I was born and raised on the East Coast. I am the oldest of three children. My youngest sibling suffered brain damage at birth, and as a result, I have first hand experience of life with a special needs sibling. My career started in education, and I have taught elementary through high school, both in public school systems as well as working in an all boys military school. I gravitated to counseling and have honed my craft through counseling, moving to psychological assessment and therapy. I am a mother, a grandmother, a church member, a choral singer and was an adored wife for 36 years. I believe we all have an obligation to leave the world a better place. O2A is one of the ways I am privileged to continue to do so.
Reynaldo Ayala

Hello everyone, I’m Reynaldo Ayala! I have lived in our community now for nearly a decade. I graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in sociology with an emphasis in criminal justice. After graduating, I began my career in law enforcement and currently work for the state. I am a certified survival skills instructor and I’m a part of the Family Violence Supervision Network. In my free time, I enjoy barbecuing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. I am grateful to be a part of such a great organization such as O2A and look forward to what the future has to hold!
Andrea Boucher
- Juvenile Defense Attorney in Linn County
- Co-Administrator of the Juvenile Defenders of Linn County
I have been in my profession for over 17 years and I still love it every day. I truly get to make a difference in the lives of those in our community. I love observing growth within families and I feel honored to be a part of people’s lives for those moments. Outside of work hours, and even during work hours, I keep busy with my two teenage daughters and family at home. I love the outdoors and try to be active each and every day. I am learning to take time to sit and be still, but that is still a work in progress…maybe someday.
