The Parenting Today Toward (PTF) with Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) helps provide parents and caregivers with a better understanding of behaviors and tools to help parents and kids work together to find solutions.

Our Foundations curriculum teaches:

  • The seven skills sets
  • Parenting Today Forward
  • Getting out of a shame and blame culture
  • Collaborative based problem solving

The group has an open-door policy, which means people don’t have to come to the first session to join. You can join at any time and attend one, or all of them.

Groups are participatory and will include discussions and activities. These are designed to be a support for both you and your family.

This is a peer support group led by O2A volunteers. We will walk alongside you, as we work together on understanding and implementing a new culture. This is a great opportunity to connect with other families and individuals who are struggling with similar issues.

Once you register for a group, there is nothing else you need to do. Thanks to our amazing sponsors and volunteers, each session is free. Visit our Calendar & Registration page to find one that best suits your needs and schedule!

How often does each session start and how often do they meet?
Each session during fall, winter, and spring last for 10 weeks, with one group per week. For our summer session, it will last 5 weeks, with 2 sessions per week.

How long does each session last?
Individual groups are 2 hours long with a break in the middle.

The Advanced Groups are for individuals who have experienced the Parenting Today Forward groups and want to dive deeper into basic skills learned during the first round.

The focus is providing practice for specific skills (example: problem solving). The sessions will allow them to apply what they’ve learned in a safe environment. These sessions are offered once a year and last for 20 weeks.

If you’ve already completed Parenting Today Forward and want to register, visit our Calendar & Registration page to register. If you have any questions about whether this group is right for you, please contact us. We’re happy to help!

One2Another’s Skill and Discussion Groups give people an opportunity to explore different topics and build on skills by talking with others who may have question about or have experiences with those topics and skills.

Each discussion group session is focused on one specific topic. These are small groups, which will include only 5 to 8 people, and is peer facilitated. This is essentially a round table discussion rather than someone teaching to a curriculum. This is an opportunity to speak with others who are facing (or have in the past) similar questions or situations. Check out our Calendar & Registration page to find upcoming events.

One2Another offers occasional workshops. These groups are focused on a particular skill and are short sessions (examples Communication, House Rules, etc.). Check out our Calendar & Registration page to find upcoming events.
